Starting Point

Starting Point, a homeless recovery program, has been in the community for 34 years and the only organization in the tri-county area serving the needs of the rural homeless. It has expanded beyond a shelter serving men with substance abuse, unfolding into an organization that assists men, women, teens and families in crisis. These individuals and families often have complex and interrelated health, social and educational needs. Starting Point continually partners with community members and agencies in order to mobilize resources that will assist homeless individuals and families to have a more secure and independent environment. Our overall objectives are to provide: restoration and recovery ministry offering a stable environment that allows mentoring/guidance in areas of character, life skills, education, vocation and spiritual issues.

Warren County United Way

Mission Statement

Through volunteer leadership, the Warren County United Way, Incorporated shall assess needs, raise funds and develop other resources to help improve the lives of the citizens of Warren County.
For over 30 years, the Warren County United Way has stayed true to its mission and continues to positively give back to our community.

A Unique Opportunity for Warren County United Way

Len G. Everett, a Kirkwood, Illinois native, left a bequest of 1.2 million dollars to the Warren County United Way in 1984. The bequest from Mr. Everett, by restriction, is held in a special trust administered by the Warren County United Way. Because income from this endowment pays all administrative and office costs, 100% of every dollar generated in the annual campaign drive is paid to our member agencies.
